Over 12 lakh teachers and 7 lakh UP government pensioners stand to gain from the announcement of the DA boost.


The state cabinet has approved the enhanced DA, and it will take effect on July 1. The Yogi Adityanath administration had already authorized the rise in DA on May 15. He had at that point given his approval to the decision to raise DA effective January 2023.


The dearness allowance for workers has been raised from 42 to 46 percent according to the Central Government. Prior to the elections, the Rajasthani government just raised the DA. Rajasthan will shortly be holding elections. The state of Rajasthan's Ashok Gehlot administration raised DA by 4%. Following this, the current DA has risen to 46% from 42%. The request for a 4% rise in dearness allowance for Rajasthani government workers has also been accepted by the Election Commission.

The Haryana government has raised the Dearness Allowance (DR) by 4%, in line with the Central government. Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, has declared a 4% raise in DA for state government workers. Following this declaration, the percentage of DA for government workers went from 42% to 46%.


Additionally, several states have raised DA.


Prior to Haryana, government workers in Odisha, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu were given higher dearness allowances before Diwali. A 4% DA boost for workers has been declared by certain states, while a 3% DA raise has been announced by others.
