Seniors Beware! For retirees who have not yet turned in their life certificates, there is important news
Seniors may simply submit their life certificates from the comfort of their own homes if they haven't already done so. There are five options for pensioners to submit their life certificate.
Now that November is halfway over, a significant number of retirees have placed their life certificates in banks. The number of federal government pensioners is around 69.76 lakh. On the other hand, a large proportion of pensioners come from state and other government agencies. Seniors may simply submit their life certificates from the comfort of their own homes if they haven't already done so. There are five options for pensioners to submit their life certificate.
Face verification
Pensioners are given the option by the government to submit their life certificates using facial authentication technology. With an Android smartphone, retirees may quickly submit their life certificate. A biometric-enabled digital service called Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) is intended for retirees of federal, state, Employees' Provident Fund Organization, and other government organizations. On their Android handsets, pensioners may install Aadhaar Face RD (Early Access) by downloading it from the Google Play Store. Additionally, they will need to download the Jeevan Pramaan app.
Bank Post Payment
How may retirees use the postal service to additionally submit their life certificate? Via the India Post Payment Bank website, you may request that the postman produce a digital life certificate. The postman will visit your house as part of this service and turn in your life certificate. In 2020, Postman launched this doorstep service. Pensioners who want to use this service on their phone may download the PostInfo app from the Google Play Store. Pensioners would need to provide their PPO, bank or post office account number, cellphone number, and Aadhaar number.
Under the appointed officer's signature
According to the Central Pension Accounting Office, a pensioner may submit his life certificate in lieu of appearing before the Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA). This requires the signature of an authorized authority on the pensioner's life certificate. It is stated in the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) plan manual that these pensioners do not have to be present in person. The names of all such identified officials who are qualified to sign the life certificate have been made public.
Portal for Jeevan Pramaan
Pensioners may use the Jeevan Praman site to submit their life certificate. The Jeevan Pramaan app must be downloaded by pensioners via the site. In addition, a pensioner will need to provide his fingerprints using the UIDAI-mandated instruments. To link the fingerprint reader to the smartphone, utilize an OTG cable. The Jeevan Pramaan website has a list of gadgets that are required by UIDAI. To register, either download the PC/mobile application or go to the closest Jeevan Pramaan Center. Users of Android may get the Jeevan Pramaan app from the Play Store.
Banking at your door
Pensioners who are unable to visit a bank may use the doorstep banking service to turn in their life certificate. In door-step banking, a bank representative visits the senior's house to verify their evidence of survival. For individuals who are unable to visit the bank, this service makes their job simpler. SBI claims that the advantages of doorstep banking are available to handicapped individuals, including those who are visually challenged, and older residents over the age of 70. Pensioners must have full KYC in order to use this service. On the other hand, the account has to be linked to a working mobile phone.
For both financial and non-financial services, including the filing of a life certificate, the bank charges Rs 70 + GST. Charges, however, might differ according on the bank. For older persons, several banks provide a restricted number of complimentary doorstep banking services.
