This week's Diwali weekend will see no direct Telugu film releases. Karthi's Japan and Jigarthanda DoubleX, also titled Jigarthanda 2, are two Tamil movies that are making their Telugu debuts. Each movie has its own advantages: Japan has a respectable technical team on board, and Jigarthanda is a cult classic and blockbuster. Although Jigarthanda DoubleX did not publicize its US debuts, the concerts were launched by Karthi's US distributor in Japan. But the film crew made a last-minute call, forcing them to postpone the US premieres. Refunds are already being processed. The films that are coming to an end for US viewers this week are Polimera 2, which is wrapping up its run, and Keeda Cola, which earned a lot of money at $615,534.
