Mumbai Local Trains: As of November 6th, there will be more AC local trains offered by Mumbai Local. There will be 17 more AC services installed as a result.

Mumbai Local: Western Railways has made the choice to broaden the number of AC local services on the Mumbai suburban section starting on Monday, November 6, 2023, due to the popularity of AC local trains and rising passenger demand. The total quantity of AC services offered by Western Railway will rise from 79 to 96 with the addition of 17 additional services. In addition, two Dahanu Road-Andheri locals are being extended up to Churchgate station in order to accommodate the demand of Dahanu local passengers.

17 new local trains with AC

In a news statement, Western Railways' Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Thakur said that a notable rise in the number of passengers using AC local trains had occurred. Consequently, 17 more AC trains are being added to Western Railway in order to better serve the growing number of passengers and for their convenience. On Monday through Friday, these services will operate with air conditioning, and on Saturday and Sunday, they won't.

The overall number of local train services, which includes 96 AC local train services, will continue at 1394 since there won't be any changes to the total number of services. In addition, the train that already travels between Dahanu Road and Andheri stations (DN93004/DN93007) would be extended to Churchgate station. Consequently, several suburban services will have their times adjusted.

Regarding this, Thakur went on to state that of the extra 17 services being launched, 9 are going in an upward manner and 8 are going in a downward direction. There are two services between Virar and Churchgate, four services between Borivali and Churchgate, as well as a service each between Nalasopara, Virar, and Bhayander in the up direction. Likewise, going downhill, there are three services each between Churchgate-Virar as well as Churchgate-Borivali, plus a single service connecting Churchgate-Bhayander and Borivali-Virar.
