Lotus Vehicles launches the Eletre e-SUV in India and plans to launch the Emira in 2024


The British automaker debuted the Eletra, pricing the basic model at Rs 2.55 crore ex-showroom, the Eletre S at Rs 2.75 crore ex-showroom, and the Eletre R at Rs 2.99 crore ex-showroom.


The manufacturer, which is situated in Hethel, Norfolk, England, and produces high-performance sports vehicles including the Emeya, Eletre, Emira, and Evija, partnered with Exclusive Motors to serve as its dealer and service partner in India.

The premium sports car and electric lifestyle vehicle maker Lotus Cars, a multinational British company, officially entered the Indian market.

We have thoroughly examined the circumstances and (conducted some) infrastructure research and development here. Additionally, we have done a lot of research to find the best (distribution) partner. With Exclusive Motors' assistance, we want to build the brand in India.


The British automaker unveiled the Eletra, its debut model. The standard variation costs Rs 2.55 crore ex-showroom, the Eletre S costs Rs 2.75 crore ex-showroom, as well as the Eletre R variant costs Rs 2.99 crore ex-showroom.


"In India, the Exclusive sportscar segment is rapidly growing, and with it, the share of electric vehicles," he said, without revealing the exact figures they are considering for this type. India has shown a special interest in electric vehicles, and we anticipate selling a large number of them there. However, it is too soon to say how many (units) we are talking about. Additionally, he withheld the company's ultimate goal for sales from India.


The company also announced at the launch ceremony that the 2024 Indian market debut of the petrol-powered Emira sportscar is scheduled to take place.  Every Lotus sports vehicle will be brought into India as a completely assembled unit (CBU) and would be subject to import duties exceeding 100%.
