Magna cutter was used in the Uttarkashi Tunnel rescue effort, and horizontal drilling backup plans were requested.

Uttarakhand. The ONGC has also bought a Magna Cutter machine from Narsinghpur, near Vijayawada, which can create temperatures as high as 4000 degrees Celsius, as a backup plan for horizontal drilling. Currently, the plasma cutter machine is working within the tunnel to remove the auger machine's worthless pieces. Magna cutter will be used if needed. For manual drilling, personnel from a certain firm have been contacted.
