Kerala: As of right now, seat belts and cameras are required in large cars

As of today, Wednesday, November 1, drivers of big vehicles, such as trucks and buses, are required by law to wear seat belts and utilize cameras. According to the Kerala Transport Department, heavy trucks will only be eligible for fitness certifications if they are equipped with seat belts and security cameras.

The change was then expanded to include replacing seat belts in big vehicles, according to sources in the local media. It had been planned since September. By October 31st, the state government was required to make sure that seat belts were installed on 5,200 KSRTC buses.

Kerala's private bus proprietors voiced significant opposition to the mandated seat belts and camera overhaul. They went on strike on Tuesday because the government had not complied with their demands, which included increasing student ticket costs and rescinding an order requiring the installation of security cameras in addition to safety belts.
