Job Cut: Major Announcement: The corporation said that more than 180 workers had been let go

Update on Layoffs: This firm is periodically laying off employees. The corporation just let go of employees from its large division.

Layoffs at Amazon: The world's largest online retailer has once again been hit by the sword of layoffs. In its gaming sector, Amazon is cutting off around 180 workers. The Crown channel that broadcasts on Twitch has been taken down by the corporation. Over a hundred workers from Amazon's gaming divisions—Prime Gaming, Game Growth, and Amazon Games—were let go in April of this year.

Amazon halted their game expansion

The business that assisted game developers in distributing their goods, Game Growth, has been shut down. Amazon has now begun to concentrate on its work with the free games that Prime Gaming provides. In light of the layoffs, Amazon is discontinuing its gaming content channel, according a message obtained by The Verge from Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games, and sent to staff members.

Amazon is changing.

Hartmann said in the message that "further valuation of our business revealed that we needed to concentrate our resources and efforts on providing great games to players now and in the future." Hartmann claims that after the first reorganization in April, it was evident that we needed to concentrate even more of our efforts on areas that had the potential to spur corporate development.

Amazon terminated over 180 employees.

"With these changes in our business approach, there has also been a change in our resources, due to which more than 180 roles have been eliminated," an Amazon official stated. Nevertheless, the company is making efforts to guarantee that each affected employee receives the necessary support on an individual basis, such as health insurance benefits, outplacement services, and a lump sum payment.

For the second time in a year, the Amazon gaming crew is being laid off.

I am confident about the future," Hartmann wrote. "We are developing and publishing great high-caliber games, our studio team is growing, and our roadmap is bright." "I recognize this is the second time this year you are hearing about a change in the team and seeing colleagues leave, so let me be very clear when I say this—I stand by my side."

Amazon saw a significant number of layoffs this year.

Amazon revealed intentions to fire 9,000 more workers in the HR, advertising, Twitch, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) departments in March. In January, Amazon started to remove 18,000 workers.
