Tata Motors said in a statement that two hundred percent subsidiaries of the carmaker, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) as well as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), have signed an agreement known as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

On November 2, Tata Motors announced that its electric vehicle division has signed a license agreement with Jaguar Land Rover to use their electrified architecture in the development of their "Avinya" line of automobiles. Tata Motors said in a statement that two hundred percent subsidiaries of the carmaker, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

According to the agreement, TPEM will license JLR's electrified modular architecture (EMA) platform in exchange for a royalty fee so that the Avinya series may be developed. A contract for engineering services (ESA) will be signed between TPEM and JLR to support the former's content needs for the initial vehicle development.

The automaker's next line of electric mid-sized SUVs for foreign markets, scheduled for release in 2025, will be powered by JLR's EMA platform. The platform's superior electrical and electronic architecture, connection, software, and feature over-the-air capabilities are all optimized for native Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) dimensions, maximizing interior space, comfort, and vision.

In 2022, the 'Avinya' idea made its debut. The 'Avinya' series will become future-proof and internationally competitive thanks to Tata Motors' partnership with JLR on the EMA platform.

"Being built on a construction that is equipped with the latest advances in contemporary technology, software as well as artificial intelligence, Avinya will spawn a new breed of exceptional EVs, with global standards in efficiency as well as range," TPEM Chief Product Officer Anand Kulkarni said. According to Thomas Mueller, JLR's Executive Director of Product Engineering, the alliance is yet another illustration of the Tata Group's excellent teamwork in sharing value, expertise, and creating synergies.

According to the auto giant, over 200 new jobs are anticipated to be generated in the UK as a result of this knowledge, skills, and manufacturing process transfer.
