 Jailed is a Serial NRI Judge Offender!


A Singaporean lawyer of Indian descent who was barred from the practice of law after many instances of contempt will serve prison time. A Singaporean court convicted 54-year-old lawyer Ravi Madaswamy to 21 days in prison for events that happened in 2021. Ravi's actions in the courtroom resulted in a five-year suspension. On two separate occasions, Ravi had accused the judges of being prejudiced against him. In addition to interrupting Justice Audrey Lim throughout the proceedings, he charged her of prejudice. In addition, he had charged judge Chay Yuen Fatt of prejudice about his schedule. 


In March 2023, he was found guilty on nine charges of contempt. Ravi contended that throughout the time, he had been experiencing relapses in his bipolar condition. The court held him accountable for the relapse since it saw that it had no bearing on his capacity for self control. The court also noted his noncompliance with the recommended drug regimen. Additionally, he faces charges for acting incoherently in public. He was charged after he openly smacked a lady in a temple. Afterwards, these accusations were withdrawn, leaving him with just a warning.
