In The Next Series on Prime Video, Plastic Ghost & Horrible VFX
On Thursday, November 9 at noon, Prime Video India unveiled the trailer for the much anticipated Tamil horror series "The Village," which is scheduled to premiere on November 24. The preview for the program, which stars Tamil starlet Arya Divya Pallai, is a far cry from what everyone was hoping for.
The introduction video is so ridiculous and pathetic-looking, with cheesy effects and glaringly fake ghosts. The teaser was posted on the social media site "X," and although though it has had about 23,000 views in the six hours after it was posted, it has only received 4 comments. This is likely due to the fact that, in the brief 20 seconds, there isn't anything that could possibly catch your interest.
The 20-second teaser tries hard to get your attention with a montage of jump scares and grim, horror scenes, but only a 3-year-old would find these scary because the ghosts resemble the plastic mannequins we see in supermarkets and the effects look like they belong in a 90s video game.
The preview has depressed us for what we believed was going to be a ground-breaking endeavor since everything from the audio to the makeup went wrong. The blood sequence, when the animation seemed to have been taken straight out of Candy Crush, was what most disappointed us. The project's last remaining hope must be the superstar Arya, who was most recently seen in Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam, now available for streaming on Zee5.
Milind Rau is the director of the program, which is based on the same-titled graphic horror book. We really hope that our assumptions are incorrect and the program does much better than this utterly awful teaser.
