Grand Theft Auto will return, according to Rockstar Games

Ten years have passed since Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto last took the video gaming industry by storm.

According to a blog post by business president Sam Houser, the first trailer for the next game would be released by the firm the following month.

"Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games," Houser stated in a letter.

"We are thrilled to announce that the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto will be released in early December.

We are excited to continue sharing these experiences with you all for many more years.

The actual game's release date is still unknown.

With over 185 million units sold, Grand Theft Auto V from 2013 is the second-best-selling video game of all time (only surpassed by Minecraft).

With Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar hopes to duplicate that kind of success.

"Thanks to the amazing backing of our players worldwide, we have been granted the opportunity to create games which we are truly passionate about — sans you, none of this would be possible, and that is why we are so grateful to all of you for experiencing this journey with us," Houser said.

"In 1998, Rockstar Games began operations on the idea that video games may one day prove to be as essential to modern society as any other form of entertainment, and it's our hope that we have created games customers love in our efforts to be part of that evolution."

Fans went online into a frenzy at the news.

"AFTER 10 FREAKING YEARS," a user on X (the previous Twitter) said.

We adore an early gift," the official Xbox X account said.

With a "let's goooo," PlayStation UK tweeted.

The tweet from Rockstar revealing the new game received more than 1.1 million likes.
