Government raises the price of LPG for business cylinders
A 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi would now cost Rs 1,833 after the tariff adjustment, down from Rs 1,731 before. It will retail for Rs 1,785.50 in Mumbai. The cost per cylinder would be Rs 1,943 in Kolkata and Rs 1,999.50 in Chennai.
The rates of commercial 19kg LPG cylinders in the four metro areas have been updated by state-run oil marketing organizations Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, while Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. The revisions will take effect on November 1, 2023.

The cost of LPG cylinders has jumped twice in the last two months.
The price hike of Rs 209 per cylinder took effect on October 1.
LPG is widely utilized as a vehicle fuel, cooking gas, heating and cooling agent, and even for certain upscale industrial operations.
The Union Cabinet said in August of this year that the 330 million customers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) nationwide would have their rates reduced.
"A subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder will be provided to all domestic consumers." Additionally, consumers under the PM Ujwala program would get this subsidy in addition to the current one, Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said on August 29 during a Cabinet briefing.
