Eight Palestinians were murdered in an Israeli strike in the West Bank
The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that in the last 24 hours, Israeli soldiers have murdered eight Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
The most significant event was an Israeli raid on Jenin throughout the night that claimed five lives.
The Israeli military said that it was going on a raid to apprehend a Palestinian who was allegedly engaged in an ambush that claimed the lives of two Israelis in August.
To honor the dead, Palestinian organizations have called for a strike in Jenin.
Since Israel was hit by a wave of lethal violence by Palestinian terrorists more than a year and a half ago, the West Bank has seen almost daily skirmishes.
Israeli soldiers have entered villages and communities in the West Bank in an attempt to find anybody who may have been engaged in stabbings and shootings or may have been preparing such crimes.
Hundreds of Palestinians, both combatants and civilians, have died as a result of the violence in Jenin.
Considered a jihadist stronghold, the city's refugee camp was breached by Israeli soldiers in July.
The deadliest fighting in the West Bank for 20 years claimed the lives of 13 Palestinians.
Furthermore, Israeli settlers have vandalized Palestinian towns and villages in retaliation for Palestinian gunman deaths.
Therefore, prior to Hamas's assault on Israel on October 7, the situation in the area was already tense.
The release of Palestinian prisoners offers families in the West Bank a "window of hope."
The crucial next stage of the conflict will start when this ceasefire expires.
Further Israeli captives freed in spite of agonizing delays
In the weeks that have passed, the situation has reportedly escalated further, with the UN reporting that over 200 Palestinians have been murdered by Israeli forces or settlers. Four Israelis have been slain by Palestinians.
Israel has increased its grip over the West Bank in order to stop the conflict from spreading while it is at war with Hamas in Gaza.
However, it seems to have further undermined the Palestinian Authority and contributed to the emergence of terrorist organizations in Jenin and other areas.
