ED 'picked up' Punjab AAP MLA Jaswant Gajjan Majra: Reports
The AAP's Punjab spokesman, Malvinder Singh Kang, responded to inquiries about news of Gajjan Majra's "detention" by saying, "The way he has been picked from above a public meeting by the ED demonstrates the BJP's politics of defaming the party."
Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra, the Punjab AAP MLA, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday, a party leader has said. The AAP leader, who wished to remain nameless, made an allegation that the ED did not immediately validate.
The AAP's Punjab spokesman, Malvinder Singh Kang, responded to inquiries about news of Gajjan Majra's "detention" by saying, "The way he has been picked from a public meeting by the ED reflects the BJP's politics of defaming the party." Gajjan Majra were unable to serve as reached right away.
Gajjan Majra had a case, according to Kang, before joining the AAP. The CBI raided locations connected to Gajjan Majra in May of last year in relation to a reported bank fraud involving Rs 40 crore.
The ED raided many locations connected to Gajjan Majra in September of last year as part of a money laundering investigation into the purported bank loan scam. Following its searches, the ED team then confiscated hard disks, a few cell phones, and Rs 32 lakh in cash.
