Following a social media post about "possible disruption" during India vs. New Zealand's World Cup semi-final in the city on Wednesday, Mumbai Police opened an inquiry, an official said.

The police official said that in response to the threat, authorities are maintaining a close watch at Wankhede Stadium and the surrounding regions on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

He stated that the crime branch has been involved in the probe by Mumbai Police, which has begun looking into the matter.
