Watch| Bengaluru cylinder blast: Man leaps from fourth level of rooftop café in Koramangala when fire breaks out

On October 18, around 11.45 am, a fire broke out at a rooftop bar and café in Bengaluru's Koramangala neighborhood. To escape the flames, a man jumped from the fourth storey.

The patient is now getting medical care after surviving. According to India TV, the fire was started by a cylinder explosion on the roof of a structure that was home to a hookah bar and the Mudpipe Cafe. The restaurant maintained full cylinders on the fourth floor, and one of the cylinders spilled, causing a fire to start, according to ADGP H Harishekaran of the Fire and Rescue Service.

Following explosions in many cylinders held in the kitchen of the restaurant and bar, the fire quickly spread across the whole structure. The initial explosion was caused by gas that spilled from one of the cylinders and ignited a fire, which spread to another three to four cylinders before exploding. At least six fire department trucks were on the site when firefighters arrived, and they used them to put out the fire.

In relation to the event, the police filed a lawsuit against the owner of Mudpipe Cafe.

Except for two people who received minor injuries, no one was hurt in the fire that severely damaged and destroyed the café, according to authorities. On the third level, there was a gym called Cult Fit that also sustained significant damage. In addition, fragments of the cylinder fell to the ground after the explosion, damaging the cars and motorcycles that were parked on the bottom level, according to India TV.
