Major financial services provider Wells Fargo announced on Tuesday that Uday Odedra has been named Managing Director and Head of Wells Fargo in the Philippines as well as India. David Owen, the Head of Global Operations, will get his report.

According to a Wells Fargo release, Odedra joins the company from UBS AG and has a wealth of expertise in the global financial services industry, including leadership in multinational companies, technology, and data strategy.

He held a number of executive positions at UBS over his more than 25 years of service, including Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Asian region and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India. Odedra graduated from Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems.

The main function of Wells Fargo India & Philippines is to extend the company's corporate support, operations, and technology teams. It works on a variety of Wells Fargo requirements, including middle and back-end banking process solutions, testing, foreign operations, application development and support, and other technical responsibilities.
