The new "Premium" membership levels from Elon Musk's X are available now. They include blue ticks and an ad-free experience

Elon Musk posted a description of the characteristics of the two new membership levels that social networking platform X launched on October 28.

Two tiers are available: a $16 monthly 'Premium+' tier and a $3 monthly 'Basic' tier. The corporation hopes to increase subscription income with these updated prices.

Users that upgrade to the Premium+ tier get the "largest reply boost" and have their "For You" and "Following feeds" ad-free. A blue checkmark is absent from the "Basic" category, but users may still modify posts, upload lengthier text and videos, and get a "small reply boost."

It said, "We're also launching a new Basic tier for USD 3/month (when signing up through Website) that gives you access to the basic necessary Premium features."

Access to creative tools and revenue-sharing are other features of the Premium tier. According to The Verge, the Premium Plus plan expands upon the Premium capabilities that X already offers, including a blue checkmark, tweet editing, lengthier posts and videos, encrypted direct messaging, and more.

The "Basic" plan, however, only offers a "small boost" to answers and excludes verification with a checkmark. It doesn't provide access to X's media studio or lessen the quantity of advertisements.

According to the New York Post, X intends to combine voice and video calling for select customers in an effort to transform the platform into a "everything app."

After purchasing X for $44 billion in October 2022, Elon Musk has been aggressively investigating different ways to monetize the social media network. He intends to include financial services in addition to adding new features like livestreaming and audio and video conversations.

The introduction of these subscription programs is a component of Elon Musk's X's platform monetization strategy. Users in the Philippines and New Zealand had to pay $1 a year to access X in the past.
