According to the Meteorological Department, the Southwest Monsoon is withdrawing from some areas and has already done so in others. It has pulled back from the majority of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and certain Sub-Himalayan West Bengal regions.




Odisha and all of Gangetic West Bengal are now beyond the monsoon's range. Additionally, the monsoon has subsided in several areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.


Over the southern portions of Tamil Nadu and its neighboring areas, there is a cyclonic circulation. 


A trough-shaped Western Disturbance (WD) has developed in the middle troposphere's westerlies. Within the following 24 hours, it is anticipated that an induced cyclonic circulation would develop across central Pakistan and its surrounds.


On October 15, which will be the first intense WD of this season, a new WD may form. In India, it will have an impact from October 13 to October 17. As a result, northwest India will probably have more rainfall over the same time period. Additionally, the area's temperatures are predicted to drop by 2-4°C starting on October 17.

South India: From October 13 to 17, Kerala and Mahe should expect scattered periods of mild to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning. On October 13, 16, and 17, Tamil Nadu state may anticipate similar weather conditions. On October 16 and 17, South Interior Karnataka might anticipate this.


Jammu-Kashmir-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad in northwest India can sometimes have mild to moderate rainfall, along with sporadic thunderstorms and lightning. between October 14 and 16. In addition, scattered heavy rainfall is anticipated on October 16 across the Kashmir-Gilgit Region and Himachal Pradesh.


On October 15 and 16, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan should anticipate mild to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
