Soon, WhatsApp may improve security by adding Custom Passwords for secured conversation folders: Report

According to reports, WhatsApp is preparing to provide a personalized password option for secured conversation folders, increasing security. According to a report from WABetaInfo, users can use this code in the search bar to open locked chats and set it up for companion devices.

There are plans to launch a feature that will let users choose a unique password for their encrypted conversation folder, according to a tip from WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp feature tracker. The purpose of this function is to increase the security of private discussions. To access their closed chats, users will have the opportunity to type this secret code into the app's search field.

Users should also be able to lock chats from their companion devices by setting a secret code.

According to reports, the update will be made available through the Google Play Beta program, specifically in the Android 2.23.21.9 beta version. It is significant to note that this function is not yet accessible to testers and is planned to be added in a future app release.

Additionally, the WhatsApp features tracker offered customers a sneak look of the secret code creation tool, letting them know what to anticipate. This sample states that WhatsApp advises using a word or a basic emoji for easy access. Users might have the freedom to change or get rid of the secret code whenever they choose.

WhatsApp released the Chat Lock functionality in May for both iOS and Android users. By installing locks that may be opened with a passcode, fingerprint, or facial recognition, users are able to protect the privacy and security of their messages and conversations. Locked chat threads will be moved to a different folder, guaranteeing the privacy of communications even if someone were to obtain access to the user's phone. These chats' notifications do not show message previews or the sender's name.
