New Delhi: Reliance Jio Infocomm, the leading telecommunications company in India, and Plume, a California-based company, have partnered to provide Plume's cloud platform-based smart home and small business services to Reliance Jio Infocomm's approximately 200 million Indian customers.

"With this new partnership, Jio is going to use 'HomePass' and 'WorkPass' consumer services permitted by Plume's AI-powered as well as cloud-based platform, including whole-home responsive WiFi, connected device as well as application performance optimisation, cyberthreat protection to stay connected devices, advanced parental controls, WiFi motion sensing as well as more," the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Plume 'Haystack' Support and Operations Suite will also be available to Jio's support and operations personnel. This suite makes it easier to locate network faults, helps identify and resolve performance problems more quickly, and offers insights into the client experience.

Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen said that the relationship would bolster and improve the carrier's JioFiber and JioAirFiber networks. He also added that scalable and cutting-edge platforms from partners like Plume will support and enhance these services. Through the agreement, JioFiber and JioAirFiber customers will be able to get AI-enhanced in-home services.

"Jio will be able to quickly expand its services offering thanks to our ability to provide a customized and highly scalable cloud-based solution to meet the requirements of the Indian market," declared Adrian Fitzgerald, chief revenue officer of Plume.
