 Mysuru will now see an impressive air display for Dussehra 2023, with increased security


A spectacular air display will take place today, Monday, October 23, at 4 p.m. at the torchlight parade field at Banni Mantap stadium. Siddaramaiah, the chief minister of Karnataka, is also anticipated to be there. 


According to the police, security has been stepped up for the Dussehra celebrations in Mysuru after the CIA indicated that more than 70 suspected terrorists had entered the nation using false passports, according to HT. 




The number of police officers deployed in Mysuru to beef up security for the Dussehra holiday might reach 3,500.  


A senior police official said in an interview with Hindustan Times that every Dussehra, over 2,000 police officers are sent to Mysuru. 


More than 1,500 police officers, 40 CAR squads, and 30 Karnataka State Reserve Police squads were deployed at 9 am to enhance the security in the vicinity for the Dasara airshow today, the official informed HT. 


On Sunday, thousands of spectators saw an air show practice at the Banni Mantap stadium in Mysuru. It will include a variety of fighter jets from the Indian Air Force as well as light aircraft. 


On October 15, the acclaimed music director Hamsalekha, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his deputy D K Shivakumar and other members of the cabinet, MP Pratap Simha, and MLAs officially kicked off the Mysuru Dasara festival. 


'Nada Habba' (State feast) is the name given to the celebration of Mysuru Dasara. Karnataka communicates to its citizens the tradition, culture, language, and level of progress attained by the state via this event. 


Goddess Chamundeshwari, the patron goddess of Mysuru city and the Mysuru Wodeyar royal line, is honored during the Dasara celebrations. The occasion honors Goddess Chamundeshwari's triumph against the demon ruler Mahishasura.


The Goddess established her home on Chamundi Hill after conquering Mahishasura. The spectacular climax of Mysuru Dasara, when Jamboo Savari is brought out on Vijaya Dashami or the tenth day of the full moon fortnight, is highly anticipated by the public.
