Mahua Moitra's response to Nishikant Dubey's accusations of bribery: "Using my ill-gotten money for..."

Mahua Moitra, a member of the Trinamool Congress, responded appropriately to BJP politician Nishikant Dubey on Sunday after he said she had accepted money and gifts from tycoon Darshan Hiranandani in order to "ask questions in Parliament."

According to Moitra, she is using "ill-gotten" money and presents to pay for a college so Nishikant Dubey may get a legitimate degree.

"Am using all my ill-gotten cash & gifts to buy a college/university where Degree Dubey can finally buy a real degree," Moitra said in a post on X (previously Twitter). Set up my inquiry committee when @ombirlakota @loksabhaspeaker completes the investigations against him for fraudulent affidavits.

The debate started when the Godda MP urged an investigation into the Krishnanagar MP for accepting money in exchange for answers in a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

According to Nishikant Dubey, who cited research done by an advocate named Jai Anant Dehadari, Mahua Moitra has up until recently asked the parliament about 50 out of a total of 61 questions, shockingly seeking information with the aim of preserving or defending the commercial interests of Shri Darshan Hiranandani and his Company.

The Adani Group, another corporate behemoth that Hiranandani Group was competing with for business, was often the subject of questioning, the BJP leader said.

Mahua Moitra responded to the claims by saying that the CBI was welcome to look into the situation "soon after they are done looking into Adani's offshore money trail, over-invoicing, and benami account."

She also attacked the Adani Group, claiming that their efforts to silence her were a waste of time.

"I would encourage the Adani group not to spend their time if they want to use a shady dossier distributed by bogus degree wallahs and prepared by doubtful Sanghis to either silence me or bring me down. Use your attorneys carefully, Mahua said.

I also welcome the CBI's investigation into my alleged money laundering, which will begin as soon as they are done looking into Adani's offshore money trail, overbilling, and benami accounts. Try doing it with me instead of Adani using BJP organizations to intimidate rivals and purchase airports, she said.
