LIVE Pakistan vs. Netherlands Score Updates, ICC World Cup 2023: An aggressive side look from Babar Azam

The ICC World Cup 2023 will begin with a match between Pakistan and the Netherlands in Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Before two crucial matches against Sri Lanka on October 10 and archrival India on October 14, Pakistan, captained by skipper Babar Azam, will attempt to get off to a solid start in the competition. The Men in Green had a mixed record in terms of warm-up games, losing to New Zealand in the first one and defeating Australia in a hard-fought contest.

The Netherlands, on the other side, will want to pull off an upset and make a statement by upsetting Pakistan in their opening match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Due to weather, both of the Netherlands' exhibition matches were cancelled. Prior to the game being officially called off, Australia and the Netherlands each batted for about 23 overs in the first exhibition match. Without bowling a single ball, their second game was abandoned.

The Netherlands is the only Associate country competing in this competition. They made their debut in 1996 and dropped each of their five games. They made their presence known during the qualifications by defeating West Indies in a Super Over after the scores were tied at 374.
