fake Kenyan attorney detained after winning 26 cases

A native of Kenya named Brian Mwenda pretended to be an attorney, and up until his recent arrest, judges didn't challenge his competence.

According to a Facts East Africa study, Mwenda was able to successfully defend clients in 26 matters before Kenyan High Court judges, magistrates, and Court of Appeal judges.

According to the article, Mwenda had successfully marketed himself as a legal expert for a considerable amount of time, and until his recent arrest, even judges did not doubt his competency.

"Kenyan officials have detained Brian Mwenda, a phony attorney who had been misrepresenting himself as an Advocate of the Kenyan High Court. Before High Court judges, magistrates, and Court of Appeal judges, he presented his arguments in 26 instances. Before his detention, he won each of the 26 cases, according to Facts East Africa's post on X.

"So he won 26 cases against Lawyers who attended law school but he's rather being punished?," a commenter with the nickname Nungua Burnaboy said. Instead of rewarding those attorneys, they need to be penalised for allowing a non-lawyer to prevail in litigation against them.

Give him an honorary legal degree, said Mfecane, another user.

TheTraderInYou responded with the statement "M sure he is going to argue himself out of the arrest."

Another user @_KAKUS said: "We have a ton of smart folks at home who can excel in a chosen subject without difficulty. Sadly, those folks never had the chance to attend school and get a diploma; this guy is a prime example.

The Virginia Project said, "He's uncredentialed, but at 26-0 in big league play, he's no phony.
