 Employees in Israel, according to Wirpo, have asked to work from home


Mumbai: IT company Wipro announced on Tuesday that it had 80 Israeli national employees in Israel who are all present and accounted for. The local tech company has instructed its staff to work from home till further notice, and is keeping an eye on their security.


In response to Mint's inquiries, Wipro stated: "Wipro has about 80 employees in Israel, who was all of whom are Israeli nationals and have been accounted for."


The announcement from Wipro comes a day after executives at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT services provider in India, said they were closely monitoring the security of its staff members in Israel due to the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.




"We are keeping an eye on things and have spoken to the HR (human resources) representatives there. We are assisting with safety precautions for them. Several employees and their families are from India, a TCS executive who requested anonymity said.


According to Wipro, all staff in the nation are being advised to work from home till further notice and to abide by the local government's safety regulations. If there is a further escalation of events, we will activate our business continuity measures and will be constantly monitoring the situation.


There are reportedly between 15,000 and 18,000 Indians living in Israel, including students. As the war may spread to other areas of the Middle East, the IT companies will also monitor the security of its Indian staff who are living in neighboring nations.


With the aid of Ethiopian Airlines, Air India has so far been able to evacuate every member of its workforce from Tel Aviv, including the flight and cabin crews. According to Mint, all major airlines, including United Airlines, Delta, Lufthansa, American Airlines, Air France, Ryan Air, and Aegean, were compelled to reschedule their flights, cease operations, or restrict the number of direct flights as a result of the escalating tension in the area.
