Due to the "war" in Israel, Air India cancels flights from New Delhi to Tel Aviv

Following violent protests that started early on Saturday, major airlines have banned travel to and from Israel. On October 7, Air India cancelled a flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv as well as a return trip from Israel due to a sudden strike by the Hamas terrorist organization. Others, such as the German carrier Lufthansa, have also made arrangements to cancel the majority of their flights today.

"For the benefit of our passengers and crew's safety, an Air India flight scheduled to depart Delhi for Tel Aviv on October 7, 2023, as well as the return flight AI140 from Tel Aviv to Delhi, have been canceled. According to their needs, passengers are given necessary help, an Air India official said.

In the meantime, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued a warning urging citizens to exercise caution and follow safety procedures.

Other foreign airlines, such as Turkish Airlines, Swiss Air, and Lufthansa, have also reported cancellations of flights.

All other Lufthansa flights to and from Tel Aviv have been canceled for this Saturday, an airline official told AFP. "Given the state of security at present in Tel Aviv, Lufthansa will continue to operate a single flight to Frankfurt," the spokesperson added.

In various places in Southern Israel along the Gaza Strip border, including the villages of Kfar Aza, Sderot, Sufa, Nahal Oz, Magen, Be'eri, and the Re'im military base, the Israeli military is engaged in combat with Hamas militants.
