CM Ibrahim is no longer the president of the Karnataka JDS, according to party leader HD Deve Gowda

Ibrahim, a prominent party member and former Union Civil Aviation Minister, had earlier said that he would soon call a meeting of the "core committee" that would see Gowda to inform him of the decision made at the meeting he had called that the JD(S) should not form an alliance with the BJP.

Karnataka JD-S President CM Ibrahim has been removed from the party, according to HD Deve Gowda, the president of the Janata Dal (Secular). Ibrahim has spoken out against the party's intention to join the NDA, which is run by the Bharatiya Janata Party, in recent days. His disobedient attitude against the party leadership for allying with the BJP infuriated the party high command.

H D Kumaraswamy, a former chief minister of Karnataka and current JD-S leader, attacked Ibrahim earlier on Tuesday and threatened to take harsh measures against him for raising a flag of rebellion against the party's alliance with the BJP.

"Let him put up a sign stating that he is the original if his (Ibrahim's) party is. Who is holding him back? Let him exercise his freedom. He's free to carry it out. He has been left in charge, stated Kumaraswamy.

Speaking to a group of party officials he had called on Monday, Ibrahim had said that he had no intention of leaving the party since he was the "real JD(S)".

The son of JD (S) founder HD Deve Gowda, who seemed offended to even bring up the subject, said, "Why should I take his (Ibrahim's) words seriously? Don't talk to me about foolish stuff, please. There is no need to respond to this. The leaders of our party will decide. Everything that needs to be fixed will be done.
