 Anniversary of Sardar Patel's birth: PM Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and other dignitaries pay homage


On October 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth day. The Prime Minister recalled his exceptional devotion and imaginative statesmanship with which he "shaped the destiny of India" in a post on X.


"We celebrate his indomitable spirit, visionary statesmanship, as well as the remarkable dedication with which he moulded the destiny of our nation," the author said on Sardar Patel's Jayanti. His dedication to national integration serves as our ongoing inspiration. We will always be grateful for his assistance." The Prime Minister, who is now in Gujarat, visited the Statue of Unity and gave Sardar Patel flowers.


On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, a number of dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, as well as others, presented floral tributes to him at Patel Chowk in the capital on Tuesday.


The home minister paid respect to Sardar Patel, the Iron Man, stating in a post on X that the only goals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's life were India's unity and prosperity.


"Tributes to the great freedom fighter as well as India's first Home Minister, Sardar Patel on the occasion of Jayanti," posted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He established a number of institutions to benefit the country and brought India together as one. His remarkable achievements to our country continue to inspire us forever."


'Iron Man' and Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel received honors from the Congress Party on the day of his birth.

Patel, a lawyer who was born in Gujarat in 1875, rose to prominence in the Congress and became a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi during the fight for independence. With his combination of strength and persuasion, he is acknowledged as the first home minister of independent India, bringing hundreds of princely states into the Union. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, is observed on the anniversary of his birth.
