The survival of the INDIA coalition is in doubt because to the war of words between senior leaders of the Congress and Samajwadi Party over the seat-sharing dispute. The fact that SP leader Akhilesh Yadav employed PDA in his social media post on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was a clear sign of INDIA's waning influence. He made no mention of the partnership with India, however.

After Congress failed to reserve a seat for its INDIA ally in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, tensions between the two parties erupted. Asserting that Congress had promised the Samajwadi Party seats in the Assembly elections, the party views the action as a betrayal. Akhilesh Yadav has been criticizing the established party ever since. The two parties ultimately ran candidates against one another in 18 of the state's seats.

Akhilesh Yadav recently published a picture of a Samajwadi Party worker with a message scrawled on his back in the party's distinctive red and green color scheme on one of his social media postings.
