For Diwali and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has planned 283 festive special trains. The special trains would travel 4,480 miles throughout the course of the festive season, according to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The Eastern Central Railway will run 42 trains with a maximum of 512 trips, while the Western Railway will run 36 trains with a maximum of 1,262 journeys throughout the festival season, according to Indian Railways.
There will be 24 trains running on the North Western Railway, totaling 1,208 journeys.

Additionally, the Railways have started a specific campaign to combat the problem of ticketless travel and provide legitimate passengers with pleasant transportation throughout the next festival season.
The zones have been directed by the Railway Board to direct the ticket-checking personnel to verify the legitimacy of passengers by examining legal identification.

The Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB), which is equal to 78 days of pay, has been approved by the union government for Fy 20233-23 for qualified non-gazetted railroad personnel.
A PLB worth 1,968.87 crores has been approved by the Union Government and would be distributed to around 1,107,346 railway workers.
