Update on the 7th Pay Commission DA Hike: The government is set to announce a 4% DA increase in October. Find out more here

D.A. Hike You will undoubtedly receive the dearness allowance as a gift. The Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees and pensioners may soon be increased, according to the central government.

D.A. Hike It's now September, the month. Employees in the centre are beating faster. It has taken a while. But the wait is about to come to an end. Just a few days remain till the wait for the dearness allowance. The holiday season officially begins in October. Festivals will cheer up the life of central staff in such a circumstance. You will undoubtedly receive the gift of a daily allowance.

The Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees and pensioners may soon be increased, according to the central government. The amount of the dearness allowance increase is confirmed.

Simply wait a few days from now...

The federal government periodically raises the dearness allowance in an effort to combat inflation. It is typically updated in January and July. The news of the DA rise and payment, however, comes rather later. The month of September is almost over. There are currently a limited number of days before the announcement of the dearness allowance. However, the question of how much dearness allowance increase central staff can anticipate this time remains. Inform us.

How much growth in DA is anticipated?

The most recent Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) is used to determine the discretionary allowance (DA) for central government employees. The calculation of dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners follows a set formula.

7th CPC DA% = [Average of AICPI-IW (Base Year 2001=100) for the past 12 months - 261.42] = [382.32-261.42] = [261.42] = [261.42]= 46.24

The table shows that the CPI-IW average for the previous 12 months was 382.32. The algorithm predicts that DA will be 46.24%. The present DA is accessible at 42% according to the authorised calculation (DA 42% is effective as of January 1, 2023).

In this case, the new formula predicts that the increase in DA starting on July 1, 2023 will be 46.24%-42% = 4.24%. Because of this, there will only be a 4% rise in their dearness allowance. The government no longer makes payments in decimal. 4% more in dearness allowance will be announced by the federal government in October, if sources are to be believed.

When will DA be put into practise?

The current rate of dearness allowance and relief paid to central employees and pensioners is 42%. In this case, the dearness allowance will be revised to 46 percent (after a 4% rise). Keep in mind that the dearness allowance increase will take effect on July 1, 2023.

What percentage will the pay rise?

DA is determined as a component of central government employees' base pay. This will provide central government pensioners with inflation relief. Therefore, central government officials' salaries rise in line with increases in DA. Let's say that an employee's base pay is Rs. 36,500 per month. With a 42% dearness allowance, he would receive Rs 15,330 in this case. However, following the 4% increase, DA will be 46% and you will receive Rs 16,790 per month. The central employee's monthly take-home pay will rise from Rs 16,425 to Rs 15,330 in this case.

Also paid will be the arrears

DA will be put into effect on July 1, 2023, as soon as the Central Government makes the notification. If a dearness allowance is issued in October, the employees will also be required to pay arrears on top of their wages. Arrears from July, August, and September will be collected in this. Pensioners receive a dearness relief rise that is equal to their dearness allowance. Pensioners in this situation will also get an additional payment of 4% and pension arrears beginning in July.

When can a DA increase be declared?

Possibly soon, the central government will publish a dearness allowance. On March 24, 2023, it was announced that the dearness allowance would begin to take effect on January 1. On September 28, it was stated that the dearness allowance would increase starting on July 1 of 2022. It is anticipated that in this case, an announcement might be made by the end of September. However, based on the information provided to Zed Business, the government may give this present in October during the holiday season. Navratri will begin on October 15. It can be accepted in the cabinet in this circumstance. More than 1 crore employees and pensioners will receive immediate benefits after clearance.
