The Unusual Behaviour Of A Subatomic Particle Could Revolutionise Physics

Scientists are beginning to believe they are missing something from their knowledge of physics, maybe some undiscovered particle or force, as a result of the odd wobble of a muon, a subatomic particle, in a US laboratory experiment. At the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory of the US Energy Department in Batavia, Illinois, scientists reported fresh results from their experiment on the muon, a magnetic, negatively charged particle 200 times more massive than its cousin the electron.
