 Miami flight's pilot's death in the lavatory forces an emergency landing

First responders pronounced Captain Ivan Andaur dead as the jet touched down in Panama.

A commercial pilot who was carrying 271 passengers from Miami to Chile passed away after passing out in the lavatory. Due of this, the co-pilot had to make an emergency landing in Panama on Sunday night, according to a report from Independent. The deceased pilot, Captain Ivan Andaur, started to feel ill three hours after the LATAM Airlines flight departed. The crew gave him emergency care, but they were unable to bring him back to life, the source added.

Medical professionals hurried to check on the pilot after the jet touched down at Panama City's Tocumen International Airport, but they pronounced him dead. Mr. Andaur had been a pilot for 25 years and was an expert.

According to LATAM Airlines Group, yesterday's flight LA505, which was going from Miami to Santiago, was forced to arrive at Panama's Tocumen International Airport because one of the three engines on the aircraft failed command crew members suffered a medical issue. At the time of landing, emergency

services offered the pilot life-saving assistance, but he tragically died, the airline said in a statement on Monday.

We are shocked and saddened by what has transpired, and we send our sympathies to the employee's family. 

His excellent contribution, which spanned a 25-year career and was always defined by his passion, professionalism, and commitment, is much appreciated. All required safety procedures were followed throughout the flight to protect the afflicted pilot's life, it added.

Tuesday, the aeroplane departed Panama City and headed towards Chile.

Mr. Andaur was 56 years old, said the New York Post.

According to a nurse who was mentioned, they lacked the "necessary or sufficient supplies to perform a good resuscitation".
