Lawyer: Imran Khan Is Willing To Serve Out The Rest Of His Life In Jail
Imran Khan was detained on August 5 following his conviction for corrupt behaviour in connection with the state gift depository charges, which he vigorously denies, by a district and sessions court in the federal capital.
Islamabad: According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's lawyer Naeem Haider Panjotha, his client was maintained in "poor condition" and only had access to C-class amenities at Attock jail, according to Geo News.
According to the report, Panjotha further said that the PTI chairman was willing to serve out his entire life in prison.
The lawyer went on to describe the filthy circumstances of the cell where the PTI chairman is being held, claiming that it was overrun with flies and cockroaches.
The attorney said, "The PTI chairman says he is willing to serve out the rest of his life in prison."
After seeing Khan on Monday, Panjotha, the PTI leader's attorney, made the statement.
The former prime minister was taken into custody on August 5 after being found guilty of corrupt behaviour in connection with the state gift depository by a district and sessions court in the nation's capital, but he vigorously contests the charges.
