Imran Khan was detained on August 5 following his conviction for corrupt behaviour in connection with the state gift depository charges, which he vigorously denies, by a district and sessions court in the federal capital.

Islamabad: According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's lawyer Naeem Haider Panjotha, his client was maintained in "poor condition" and only had access to C-class amenities at Attock jail, according to Geo News.

According to the report, Panjotha further said that the PTI chairman was willing to serve out his entire life in prison.

The lawyer went on to describe the filthy circumstances of the cell where the PTI chairman is being held, claiming that it was overrun with flies and cockroaches.

The attorney said, "The PTI chairman says he is willing to serve out the rest of his life in prison."

After seeing Khan on Monday, Panjotha, the PTI leader's attorney, made the statement.

The former prime minister was taken into custody on August 5 after being found guilty of corrupt behaviour in connection with the state gift depository by a district and sessions court in the nation's capital, but he vigorously contests the charges.

PTI Chairman's misdeclaration of assets has been confirmed, according to the judge, who sentenced Khan to three years in prison and fined him PKR 100,000 in addition to issuing an arrest order for him right away. Khan was held before being transferred to Attock jail.

Khan's attorney stated to the media on Monday that the former Prime Minister, who was ousted from office by a parliamentary vote last year, was given access to a tiny room "which has an open washroom."

Panjotha said that Khan claimed the cops attempted to smash down the door of his wife Bushra Bibi's room while arresting him and did not show him a warrant.

The PTI chairman said that he should be permitted to visit his wife while incarcerated.

The PTI chairman has signed the power of attorney, according to Panjotha, and the appeal against the trial court's decision will be submitted on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, the PTI petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to move Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail, arguing that given his "education, habits, and social and He should have access to better or A-class amenities in prison due to his "political status". The petition said, "The petitioner hails from a wealthy family and has been accepted to a better way of life later owing to his education, habits, standing in society, and politics in the society.
