I had reserved tickets for three senior citizens with lower berth preferences, and even though there were 102 berths available, they have been provided middle berths, upper berths, and side lower berths, the passenger wrote, tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. You ought to fix it.

On Twitter, RCTC gave a response to this query. According to the rules, the IRCTC said, "Sir, the lower berth/senior citizen priority berth is only 60 years and above, lower berths allocated for female age of 45 years and above, when she is travelling by herself or with two passengers (travelling on one ticket)." IRCTC said that the system would not take into account a request if there are more than two senior citizens or in the event one senior citizen is there but the other is not.

Benefits for senior elderly are halted
