Hazaribagh: On Tuesday night, a herd of elephants wrecked havoc in the hamlet of Karamtand in the Dadha Panchayat in the Hazaribagh region of Jharkhand.
At half past eight, a herd of elephants reached the settlement. Five buildings were successively demolished and the grains stored in them were devoured by the elephants involved.
Following that, an elephant herd charged into the paddy field and destroyed the produce. Surendra Turi, Birendra Turi, Rajkumar Turi, Dwarka Turi, and Ramlal Turi, among other villagers, said that there are roughly 30 elephants in the herd.
Gajraj remained still despite the drumming
When the elephants entered the settlement, people gathered, started to make noise, and climbed on the roof to escape death. The locals claimed that despite their best efforts to scare the elephants away with lights, firecrackers, and drumming, the animals remained immobile.
After being told later, a team of forest employees arrived in the settlement about 10 p.m. Geeta Devi, the wife of Mahavir Turi, then collapsed off the terrace as she fled in terror of the elephants approaching the rice field.
His leg and waist were fractured. Sadar Hospital has received the woman's admission. Elephants terrify people. Due to their dread of elephants, the people are compelled to flee their houses.
