 FBI: US Teen With Al-Qaeda Connections Arrested For "Terror Attack" Plotting


When the FBI learned that the kid had allegedly been in contact with Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad (KTJ), an inquiry was launched.


A 17-year-old Philadelphia resident was detained and charged with organising a terrorist act. According to the Independent, the adolescent was detained by the FBI on Friday in West Philadelphia and charged with communicating with a terrorist organisation linked to Al-Qaeda.




At a press conference, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner stated: "The work of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force probably prevented a catastrophic terrorist attack in the moniker of a perverted ideology that in no way, form, or manner represents the beliefs about the overwhelming majority of peace-seeking individuals of any faith, including Muslims."


"The charges we have filed above this individual represent the most dangerous alleged terrorist activity charged in Philadelphia County court in recent history," he continued.


Further, In order to safeguard all of the individuals we serve, Mr. Krasner announced, "We intend to follow full accountability for these crimes and will continue to be vigilant with our law enforcement agencies partners." from hateful, ideologically motivated acts of violence."


A young person is believed to have purchased chemicals and taken measures to construct a weapon of mass devastation, according to ABC News.


At the press briefing, FBI Special Agent in Charge Jacqueline Maguire said, "Among the items he ordered were tactical equipment, wiring, chemicals, and devices frequently used as remote detonators." He had started assembling possible explosives, 


The statement from Ms. Maguire said, "in alongside taking steps to acquire those commodities and supplies that are frequently used in constructed explosive devices."

Ms. Maguire further disclosed that the kid had access to a sizable quantity of guns.


The kid is accused with possessing weapons of mass destruction, engaging in criminal conspiracy, setting fire to property, causing or threatening a disaster, attempting to conduct criminal mischief, having an instrument of crime in his possession, and endangering another person recklessly.
