Chain pulling causes trains to be late

If the alarm chain (ACP) is pulled inside the station's boundaries, the RPF staff member on duty must travel to the affected carriage and speak with the passenger in question to determine if the ACP is legitimate.


The mechanical (carriage and waggon) personnel that is on duty in select premium trains must, however, handle the ACP case and reset the aforementioned equipment.


The majority of the time, the guard and driver must additionally handle the ACP situation, which causes the train in question to halt and decreases the timeliness of the next trains in that section.


In order to raise awareness among passengers about the danger of alarm chain pulling, Railways is launching a campaign to that effect by putting up posters in railway facilities and on trains.


It should be emphasised that activating the train's alarm chain without cause is illegal and criminal. You risk up to a year in prison, a fine of Rs 1000, or both under Section 141 of the Indian Railways Act, 1989.
