According to reports, Lenovo is developing AR glasses for its portable gaming system

Lenovo may also introduce a new set of augmented reality (AR) gaming glasses at the same time as its 'Legion Go' portable gaming system.

Legion Go, an unannounced mobile gaming system from Lenovo, may have AR glasses. It is rumoured that the tablet would ship with Windows 11 pre-installed and have a design similar to the Nintendo Switch, complete with detachable joy-con controllers.

A recent revelation by WindowsReport citing trustworthy sources claims that Lenovo appears to be developing a number of new items, one of which is a new set of AR glasses intended for gaming.

Although there is no confirmed information about the device, there are rumours that Lenovo may introduce them at the IFA 2023 with the Legion Go. According to the research, the AR glasses will also be appropriate for daily chores and may even be comfy for extended gaming sessions due to their tiny size.

The bottom of the glasses appear to have a USB-C connector, indicating that a built-in battery may not be included. In the world of augmented reality, Lenovo is not exactly a new participant. The startup debuted the ThinkReality A3 smart AR glasses for businesses earlier this year at MWC 2023, which was built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR1 platform.

The portable gaming system will probably be powered by AMD's new Pheonix APUs, which are based on the RDNA3 architecture and perform comparable to the Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipsets. Other features include an 8-inch FullHD screen, dual speakers, a USB-C connector, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Lenovo Legion Go may resemble the ROG Ally and Steam DEck while the controllers are connected, but when detached, it may resemble a Windows tablet with a kickstand, according to recent renderings of the gadget. It appears that Legion Go will include full-sized triggers and shoulder buttons in addition to customizable buttons that have additional utility, unlike Nintendo Switch.

Although the pricing of Lenovo's future portable gaming gadget is yet unknown, rumours indicate that the firm may set it at a level comparable to that of the recently released ROG Ally.
