A feature that Apple customers have long enjoyed may soon be available to Android users

Google is reportedly working on a feature called "Call Switching" that would let users switch between linked devices while on the phone.

Users of Apple products frequently comment on the ecosystem's seamless integration. When doing different tasks, like as making and receiving calls, transferring files, and utilising apps, users may quickly move between their iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

According to a report by Android Authority, Android users may soon also benefit from comparable capabilities that will enable them to connect their numerous Android devices together. Mishaal Rahman, an Android specialist who tweeted about the prospective functionality, is quoted in the article. Rahman asserts that Google is developing a feature that would enable communication across Android devices that are logged into the same Google account.

With this, services like "Call Switching," which enables users to switch between linked devices while on a call, and "Internet Sharing," which would make it simpler to rapidly set up a personal hotspot across the connected devices, might be enabled. When the functionality is formally published, the source predicts that the "Link Your Devices" menu will show up under Settings > Google > Devices & Sharing in the device settings.

The Android device connection functionality has not yet been disclosed by Google, and no release date has been specified. For Android users who own numerous devices and want to have a more consistent experience across them, if it is true, it may be a valuable feature.

According to the rumour, Apple's "iPhone Mobile Calls" function, which enables users to make and receive iPhone calls from Apple devices like Macs and iPads logged into the same Apple ID, may not be as advanced as Google's "Call Switching" capability. However, you cannot transfer calls from one iPhone to another using Apple's functionality.

Google's "Call Switching" feature's phrasing, on the other hand, implies that it may be used to move between other Android devices, including phones.

It's yet unclear how effectively Google's Android device connecting function will perform in use or whether it will operate with all Android devices or just a select few. But it is obvious that Google is attempting to overtake Apple in terms of providing a more interconnected and practical ecosystem for its consumers.
