8 individuals can make video calls on the WhatsApp for Mac client, while 32 people may make voice calls
Making video and audio group conversations is one of the many new capabilities included in the updated native Mac app.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently unveiled a new WhatsApp software for Mac users that enables them to take part in audio and video conversations with up to 32 people. According to WhatsApp, individuals can join a group call after it has already begun.
Users will also be able to check their call history, join group calls after they begin, and receive calls even while the app is closed, according to a blog post by Meta.
It appears that the next version of the programme will have some quality-of-life improvements targeted at boosting productivity on large-screen devices like the Mac Pro and allowing users to drag and drop files into any discussion. End-to-end encryption will be used to protect calls, messages, and media sent using WhatsApp, just like it does with other platforms' apps.
WhatsApp said earlier this year that it was testing a native Mac OS app created using Mac Catalyst. It had a separate app sidebar and an updated user interface, and it could be downloaded from the official website.
