News Lohardagga Jharkhand's top two Maoists have turned themselves in to the authorities. Neeraj Singh Kherwar, alias Sanjay Kherwar, the zonal commander of the CPI Maoists, received a prize of Rs. 16 lakh, while Khudi Munda, the leader of the Naxalites, received a payment of Rs. 6 lakh.

Jagran Correspondent, Lohardaga/Gumla: The police have accepted the surrender of two well-known Maoists from Jharkhand. Neeraj Singh Kherwar, alias Sanjay Kherwar, the zonal commander of the CPI Maoists, received a prize of Rs. 16 lakh, while Khudi Munda, the leader of the Naxalites, received a payment of Rs. 6 lakh.

Neeraj Singh Kherwar turned himself in to the Jharkhand Police special squad in a jungle on the border of Lohardaga and Latehar. A 10 lakh rupee reward has been announced by the Jharkhand Police for his capture, alive or dead.

Ranchi is hosting an investigation

Neeraj was wanted by the NIA as well. Four lakh rupees had been set aside as a prize. Kherwar's surrender is seen by the police as a major victory, and they are detaining him in Ranchi while they question him.

no police statement

Neeraj was born and raised in the Palamu district's Abun hamlet, which is a part of the Panki police station area. He is Puchu Kherwar's son. I've been in touch with Jharkhand Police's top officers for the last several days. But no formal comment has been made as of yet. However, the police have yet to issue an official announcement on the surrender.

Seven Naxalites, including Neeraj Kherwar, Ravindra Ganjhu, Chhotu Khairwar, Neeraj Singh Khairwar, Mrityunjay Bhuiyan, Kajesh Ganjhu, Lajim Ansari (dead), and Agnu Ganjhu, were listed by the NIA as being among the most sought in April of this year.

How did Neeraj give himself up?

It has been mentioned that Neeraj was continually worried by the police's mounting pressure. He desired to give up in Bihar. A large police officer stationed in Ranchi, the nation's capital, called him after learning about this. After that, Neeraj gave up.

The police will make an official statement about Neeraj's surrender after the questioning is through. Both were on the NIA's most wanted list, along with the Jharkhand Police.

Khudi Munda also gave up

Khudi Munda, a Naxalite commander, turned himself in at the Kurumgarh police station in exchange for a reward of six lakh rupees. Khudi Munda resides in the Batpuri village neighbourhood of the Bharno block.

In the district police stations of Gumla, Simdega, and Latehar, Khudi is the subject of dozens of cases. Big scandals like the attack on the Chainpur police station, the explosion of the Chainpur block building, and the murders of four officers by attacking the Chainpur police were masterminded by Khudi Munda. Prize money for Khudi Munda is six lakhs.

A prize of 5 lakh was declared

He has received a reward of Rs. 5 Lakh from the Jharkhand Police and Rs. 1 Lakh from the NIA. Two Maoists are thought to have died in a police encounter last month.

Following this, Khudi Munda maintained regular contact with the police. He said he was willing to give up. Khudi Munda is being questioned by the police constantly after surrendering. He was probably sent to Gurudari, a rural police station in Bishunpur, on Thursday.
