According to police, workers will be on duty throughout the day to test the setup for the G20 meeting, which will take place in September. While the majority of the district police officers would patrol the whole complex, the PM will be under close protection within the 13-acre IECC by a small group of cops and the NSG.

The new International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) in Pragati Maidan will be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. More than 15,000 police officers, SWAT squads, and more than 200 police cars outfitted with cutting-edge tools and weaponry will be on duty to protect the event. Given that the G20 summit will take place at the same location, senior police authorities stated that these preparations are being made as a practise for the security measures for that event. The 120-acre renovated Pragati Maidan IECC complex would be secured by a sizable contingent of police officers from all of Delhi's districts, special units, traffic units, and other sectors, according to an article in The Indian Express.

According to police, workers will be on duty throughout the day to test the setup for the G20 meeting, which will take place in September. While the majority of the district police officers would patrol the whole complex, the PM will be under close protection within the 13-acre IECC by a small group of cops and the NSG. According to Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav, the traffic department has put in place necessary security measures for the G20 summit and he has been briefed of them. The Pragati Maidan tunnel will stay closed for the day as NSG soldiers will be in charge of the PM's protection there, according to the police, who have bolstered police deployment in the Lutyens neighbourhood.

More than 500 police cars, 200 of which would be sent to the Delhi Police's security section for G20 arrangements, according to sources, will be employed. These vehicles will have GPS systems, cameras with AI capabilities, and weaponry. We will also look at how many cars may park and where they will be maintained, an official stated. These cars are crucial for security since they will be equipped with bomb detectors, night vision technology, vehicle surveillance systems, and bulletproof materials, among other things. Senior officials announced that each district will deploy more than 800–1000 police officers for the practise.

We conducted a meeting with senior officials of the ministry and security forces, according to a police officer stationed at the police headquarters. The systems will be put to the test. The security wing's police officers will be dressed in blue uniforms. Others will be dressed in their everyday attire. Police officers have been told to look for snipers, drones, and other strange aerial objects in addition to any suspect chemical or biological agent discovered on the ground. In the neighbourhood, there have been instances of both street crime and crime against women. We are aware of this, and it is being investigated…

19 Delhi Police marksmen who just finished their training with the ITBP in Kerala will participate in the practise. The Delhi Police is using female SWAT squads for protection for the first time. Officers at the DCP level of the Delhi Police Security Cell, PM Security, and New Delhi have been told to keep their guard up. "We will monitor the footage from CCTV and AI cameras in real time to prevent any unfavourable situation," another official stated.
