The first formative assessment test was scheduled to start on Tuesday. It has now been agreed to take a weekly exam rather than alter it.




Ranchi: There would only be two annual (summative assessment-2) and half-yearly (summative assessment-1) exams in government schools, as opposed to the current six. Instead of four formative evaluations, there will now be one weekly test, and the foundation for these periodic exams will be the average of the scores earned over the course of two consecutive months.


20 points will be awarded for each topic based on the results of the weekly exams. With this, the Jharkhand Education Project Council has for the first time published the timetable of weekly exams beginning on August 5. All classes will be affected by this. In addition, the dates for the pre-board examinations for students in grades nine through twelve have been released, in addition to the half-yearly and annual exams.

It has now been agreed to take a weekly exam rather than alter it. All district education officials and district superintendents of education have received instructions on this from JCERT Director Kiran Kumari Pasi. The schedule for the weekly check-ups was also made public by the Council.


Diet will undergo a test once a week

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) is in charge of holding weekly tests as well as half-yearly and annual exams. Under the direction of the District Education Officer and District Education Superintendent, DIET will carry out this job.


These dates will be used for the exam

A1 to A12: 28–30 November 2023: Half-Yearly Examination (Summative Assessment-1).


Class I through VIII: April 1–4, 2024, Annual Examination (Summative Assessment-2).


Pre-Board Exam dates for classes 9 and 11 are March 2–7, 2024.


Pre-Board Exam dates for classes 10 and 12 are February 19–23, 2024.
