Now, a hearing is scheduled on August 5. On the other side, the ED opposed IAS Chhavi Ranjan's bail during today's session. Chhavi Ranjan is allegedly the primary forger in the case involving the fraudulent land acquisition and sale, according to testimony in court. They shouldn't be released on bond because of this. He was declared innocent in the case, according to the defence. The plea for bail submitted by Chhavi Ranjan Chhavi Ranjan, who has been detained since May 5, submitted a plea on June 30 asking for bail.
Accused's time in custody is extended
The judicial detention time for 10 defendants in this case, including Chhavi Ranjan, a suspended IAS official who is already in jail, and Amit Agarwal, a businessman from Kolkata, has been extended. Through video conference, the court received appearances from all 10 of the case's incarcerated defendants. The next appearance is scheduled on August 11 by the court.
