In Jharkhand, ED Special Judge Dinesh Rai is considering the bail request of suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan, who is charged in the matter of the alleged illicit sale and acquisition of 4.55 acres of property at Bariatu Road that the army occupies. Now, a hearing is scheduled on August 5. On the other side, the ED opposed IAS Chhavi Ranjan's bail during today's session.




Ranchi: In Jharkhand, ED Special Judge Dinesh Rai is considering the bail request of suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan, who is charged in the unfinished unlawful acquisition and sale of 4.55 acres of property at Bariatu Road that was occupied by the army.



Now, a hearing is scheduled on August 5. On the other side, the ED opposed IAS Chhavi Ranjan's bail during today's session. Chhavi Ranjan is allegedly the primary forger in the case involving the fraudulent land acquisition and sale, according to testimony in court. They shouldn't be released on bond because of this. He was declared innocent in the case, according to the defence. The plea for bail submitted by Chhavi Ranjan Chhavi Ranjan, who has been detained since May 5, submitted a plea on June 30 asking for bail.


Accused's time in custody is extended

The judicial detention time for 10 defendants in this case, including Chhavi Ranjan, a suspended IAS official who is already in jail, and Amit Agarwal, a businessman from Kolkata, has been extended. Through video conference, the court received appearances from all 10 of the case's incarcerated defendants. The next appearance is scheduled on August 11 by the court.


Who Are They

In the case of Chhavi Ranjan Amit Agarwal, Dilip Ghosh, Pradeep Bagchi, a RIMS employee who manufactured bogus documents, and a fictitious owner of army property.


Saddam Hussain, Imtiaz Ahmed, Tehla Khan, Fayaz Khan, and Bargain Circle Revenue Sub-Inspector Bhanu Pratap Prasad have had their custody periods extended. Eight of the accused have already received the police papers (case documents), which are now being distributed to them.
