A narcotics ring operating out of America has been discovered by the Gurdaspur Police in Chandigarh, Punjab. Three persons, including a lady with Croatian connections, were arrested by police at a checkpoint set up overnight near Paniyar Sugar Mill with 18 kilogramme of heroin worth Rs 80 crore. ASP Aditya Warrier, DSP Sukhpal Singh Randhawa, and CIA in-charge Kapil Kaushal led the operation.

The police already had knowledge
Vikramjit Singh, Kuldeep Singh, and Sandeep Kaur were being called on a regular basis by Dhaliwal when the police detained them. SSP Harish Dayama said he was not aware that the suspect had been taken into prison. He claimed that efforts are being made to locate the place from which Dhaliwal manages his operations in America with the assistance of RAW and IB. The suspects were driving their Swift automobile from Srinagar when it was loaded with 18 bags of heroin. The accused was expected to attempt to smuggle drugs into the Gurdaspur area on the night of July 26 and 27, therefore the police had put up checkpoints at many locations, including Paniyar.
What was said to the police by the accused?
Vikramjit, the accused, admitted to the police that he frequently travelled to Srinagar to bring narcotics. The SSP said that he later gave them to his superiors in Amritsar or Gurdaspur. Additionally, he disclosed to the police that Dhaliwal served as his handler and kept in touch with him when he was on his smuggling excursions.
