 Muharram 2023: A funeral procession will be held today, Ranchi city has been transformed into a cantonment, and there will be a large police presence


On Saturday, Muslims will observe Muharram in remembrance of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions' sacrifice on the pitch of Karbala. Since the Karbala event, Hussain or Ya Ali has become popular rallying points. Let us inform you that a procession for the Sunni community will leave at 11 o'clock, and a procession for the Shia community will leave at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

People will congregate in the streets to view Tazia's robust security measures.


Jagran reporter in Ranchi. On Saturday, Muslims will observe Muharram in remembrance of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions' sacrifice on the pitch of Karbala. Since the Karbala event, Hussain or Ya Ali has become popular rallying points. These catchphrases will be heard on the streets of Ranchi's capital this time.


To observe the youth perform akhada and tazia, crowds of people would congregate in the streets. On the one side, members of the Shia community will march in a procession of grief, while on the other, members of the Sunni community will march in a Tajiya procession.


Different times and routes have already been set by the government for the processions of the two villages. At 11 a.m., the Sunni community will begin its parade from their individual locations and travel to Albert Ekka Chowk, where akhadas travelling from all parts of the city will meet. From there, the procession will travel to Milan Chowk, Daily Market, Taxi Stand, Lake Road, and raise Ali or Hussain-related banners.


The procession of Dhawatal, Imam Bakhsh, Lilu Akhara, along with additional akhadas will then travel past the Urdu Library, Shraddhanand Road, and Mahavir Chowk to arrive at the main Imambara. These akhadas will get a salute there. I'll return to Karbala, which is in Karbala Chowk, after salami. They will then return to their respective locations following Fatiha. On the other side, the Shia community will conduct a funeral march. At 1 pm, the Shia community's march will leave the Masjid-e-Jafriya in Ansar Nagar.


The parade will travel down Church Road, Taxi Stand, Urdu Library, and Fatehullah Road before arriving at Karbala Chowk Imambara. Shia community members of all ages will be in mourning during this time.


Security measures will be taken very seriously

Regarding Muharram, the city has implemented strict security measures. The procession has caused a change in the route. In the capital, there will be heavy police security at a number of critical and religious locations. The magistrate, a sizable police force, and a parade have all been dispatched.
